Creating a SkillStack

A personal technology resume

SkillStack video overview

SkillStacks represent a personal technology resume and in most cases will be created by each individual member of your marketing team.  Invite each team member into your CabinetM account and ask them to create their own SkillStack.  The SkillStack configurator is similar to the company stack configurator and like that configurator is intuitive and easy to use.  To build a SkillStack:

  • Add a photo to your CabinetM profile
  • Click on create a SkillStack
  • Choose the color of your SkillStack
  • Add your title
  • Add a short professional bio
  • Describe your current function
  • Enter your years of experience
  • Enter your years in your current position
  • Create layers for your stack

Admins have access to all the SkillStacks that have been shared with the enterprise and can filter to quickly find individuals with expertise in a particular category or with a specific product.

Admins also have the ability to mandate that SkillStacks are tagged by department, business unit, region and location.

If you would prefer to collect SkillStack information via a spreadsheet rather than invite your team members into your CabinetM account,  you can download our csv template and upload individual spreadsheets to create SkillStacks.  Note:  Our recommendation is that you invite members into your account to create their own SkillStacks but if you choose to upload it is important to note that product names, department, region, and business unit names must match those on the platform exactly!

SkillStack Reports

Identify technology gaps and areas of expertise

Use SkillStack reports to assess skills by team, department and business unit.  Look at skills holistically to identify gaps, risks (single source of expertise) and areas of technical excellence).

Align skills with your stack

You can assess your team's skills against the technology in place by choosing to generate a SkillStack report through the lens of a particular stack.  Selecting a company stack in the SkillStack filters will give you a view of the skills you have by product category. To see skills that match the specific products in your company stack, check the "Show exact product match" box.
